Q: Do you shoot film or digital?
A: We are all digital and shoot with the Canon 1Dx and 5D Mark III cameras as well as top of the line Canon L series lenses and we always bring back-up.
Q: Color and B&W?
A: Yes.
Q: Will you travel?
A: Absolutely! We will travel anywhere! No place is too far!
Q: How many people work with you at a wedding?
A: I always bring a second photographer. I prefer the additional perspective. Sometimes an assistant will come along to make 3 of us.
Q: How many images do you usually take at the wedding?
A: We normally average between 1000-1500 images at a wedding between both photographers. After editing for the best images, you will usually end up with somewhere around 500-750 images. The amount of images depends greatly on the amount of coverage, circumstances, etc. (but don’t worry… we never leave out any of the good stuff!)
Q: Do I own the copyright to my pictures?
A: 4th Dimension Photography holds the copyright to all images taken. Along with the DVD of your files, you will receive a signed “Rights to Print” form that gives you permission for personal use, such as making prints, posting on your website, etc. This release is specific to you only and it cannot be transferred or sold to anyone else.
Q: How long will it take to get my digital files from my wedding or portrait session?
A: Usually about 3-6 weeks for weddings and 3-4 weeks for portrait sessions.
Q: How long will it take to get my prints once I’ve placed my print order?
A: Usually about 2-3 weeks.
Q: How long have you been a wedding photographer?
A: I photographed my first wedding in 2010 and have loved it ever since. I fall more in love with my job after each wedding I shoot. I have always loved the excitement of the day and the beauty in all the details.
Q: What should we wear for our session?
A: All I can say is don’t play it safe! Be yourself! Everyone has their own unique style and personality. If you want, bring a few things and we’ll try out more than one outfit. Just remember to mix it up; don’t bring all formal clothes. Throw in a casual outfit as well. If it is for an engagement session, try not to match exactly and be careful not to clash with your colors or patterns. Good ideas for ladies: layers & lots of texture – denim jackets, corduroy, scarves, etc. Accessories, colorful bangles and earrings or some layered necklaces, maybe even some cute high heels. For guys, same principle goes, layers and lots of texture! Cool jeans, jackets and hats always look good. And please, by all means don’t be afraid of COLOR! There’s nothing like vivid color and rich texture! Please be sure to avoid large logos or text. You are more than welcome to bring props as well. Bring anything from bubbles, to funky furniture, fun sunglasses, a bike for two, bubble gum, balloons, sparklers, hula hoops, playing cards, really whatever you think would be fun or something that is unique to you.
If nothing specific comes to mind, you don’t need to bring anything. We will get amazing shots with or without props, I promise you that!! Click here for visual ideas on what to wear.
Q: Where should we have our session?
A: I am more than happy to take you to a few of my favourite spots; however, if you have a place that is special to you or just a cool place you spotted, I am totally up for something new. If not, I generally will meet you at a local area in town and we will move from there. I love to explore new places, so be prepared to maybe give me a few quizzical looks if I take you to a place that isn’t your typical park. My creativity flows most when I am in a new place I have never been! I love to shoot in urban and rural environments, so if you have a spot in mind, let me know!
